I Need a Hug

Soooo, I went to the neurologist (yeah, I thought it was last week, too, but I pulled a CJ and showed up one week early). Anyway, you know what its like for us, those of us with Fibro, Chronic Fatigue, heck, most any chronic illness. We HURT. I MEAN HURT! Beyond comprehension HURT! And, we are TIRED, BEYOND TIRED, THERE NEEDS TO BE ANOTHER NAME FOR WHAT WE ARE TIRED!

Soooo, this neurologist, who has been practicing for what has to be over 30 years. This college educated man. This specialist. This man who I have come to for help. Help with the peripheral neuropathy that burns and sears and makes it impossible for me to stand for more than five minutes without almost collapsing in pain. This man says:

"You need to exercise."

Really. I need a hug.

Later,
me
CJ

BTW, sorry I yelled. I am preaching to the choir.

  1. Hi CJ,
I'm sorry you had that experience. I guess we've (the choir) all had it with some doctor along the way, or many doctors.
Do you have lidocaine patches? I think they are called Lidoderm. They help localized neuropathic pain. Also, the cayenne pepper cream helps. And, some good 'ol narcotics might help too.
It is such a bad kind of pain, I know it well. It is hard to treat. Peripheral neuropathy and exercise, !!!, sigh... modern medicine!
I really hope you find relief.
    Have a blessed day CJ.

  2. Yes,I have had my fair share of doctors who should probably find another profession. I was shocked that this guy would pull that garbage for peripheral neuropathy. I knew it was going to be bad when after asking me if I had any more medical problems and I said fibro, he responded with "Are there any MAJOR problems that you have?"
    AAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!
I do have the patches, but the pain is in both feet and all the way up both legs to the knee. I got the patches, that I use elsewhere, as samples because my insurance won't approve them. They are $150 a pop otherwise. The cream sounds intriguing, where do you get it? I take my share of pain meds, though not much helps the neuropathy. I am so very sorry to hear you have that, too. "And God bless us, everyone." (Tiny Tim)
